Why families choose us

Performance skills for everyday life

Every class is written and developed in-house, with a focus on verbal communication that shows up well beyond the stage.

Known by name

Classes are capped at 20 students with a teacher and an assistant, so every child gets seen and supported.

Learning through play

Skills are built through games and improvisation, not drills, so students learn by doing and don't notice the practice as practice.

Our own curriculum

Staff write and develop the program themselves, tailored to Bendigo students rather than a franchise script.

Speech, not just stagecraft

Every lesson builds verbal communication and speech skills alongside performance technique.

A safe space to try

A respectful, positive environment where trying something new and getting it wrong is part of learning.

A fresh friend group

Students meet kids from other schools, widening their social circle outside the regular school day.

Props Theatre is a progressive drama program of 1 hour weekly classes which includes; improvisation techniques for theatre, mime essentials, soundtrack art, various scripted plays and specialised training in voice work for performance.

The program rewards commitment to the program and supports students to reach their individual goals for ages 5 - 16 within our regular program. Our program has a real focus on verbal communication, developing speech skills in every lesson.

Each lesson is full of laughter, new skills and many students thrive on the fresh friend base being in a drama class with students of different schools. We always have fun and the classes have a respectful and positive attitude towards involvement, accepting others creativity and being professionals on the stage at the end of the year at the Capital Theatre, Bendigo.

Props Theatre focuses on respectful, safe spaces for students to learn and explore their own creativity and grow their confidence
